  • OK…I’m usually pretty savvy about seeing through hype and finding real content, but I blew it with this one – probably because I was looking for a very recent publication date, and realized that might mean fewer reviews. There were five reviews of this book when I found it – all gave the book 5 stars. They must be bogus reviews.

Here’s the reality…I think this guy means well, but he cannot write. The content in this book is difficult to understand because it is totally unclear. This guy has been living with keywords and a thesaurus mentality for way too long – it has clouded his thinking to the point that he simply can’t communicate deeper than the selling-hype level.

The book is full of typos – obviously “corrected” with a spell check, which makes the misspellings worse – they actually add a level of incomprehensible inaccuracy. Here’s are just a few examples:

“One simple tip to make tour [sic] headline more conspicuous is to use tag [sic] like

in the headline instead of the usual tag.” (p. 80)

“As mentioned before elsewhere in the book [yeah, like a LOT OF TIME before], content is the king and the right type of content is the emperor! Nothing works best [sic] than a web page that contains relevant content interspersed with the right type of keywords. Web site users click on your ads because your content is immensely appealing and catchy” (p. 98)

“The ultimate secret is to make your web site famous with lot [sic] of links and traffic, so that Google can take immediate notice of your site. Google wants those sites that have lot [sic] of traffic and incoming links. It is natural for Google to seek only functional and working web site [sic] that can provide very good click-through rates.” (p.22)

I have excerpted three examples here – I randomly picked each paragraph and they ALL have errors – I’m not being nit-picky here. Any (and every?) paragraph reads like the ones above. It is an exercise in “cloud thinking” to plow through this book. 120 pages of crap/fluff billed as “Advanced 2.0″ – pathetic.

The book is obviously self-published. The illustrations are basically illegible screen shots. Font size is 18 and the text area on each page is only 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″. It took me about an hour to read the whole book. Now I have to find a resource that will actually clarify all the questions I have about AdSense!

Don’t waste your money like I did.

It does not matter if you want to advertise your product selling site, pay-per-click, or make a lead campaign to your Adsense site as I did – information in this book is valuable for both cases.
