I found this book excellent although it may be a bit much for the beginner website developer or internet marketer. Many of the reccomended actions are rather complicated. For the beginner that wants to get going and get his or her website up and running and indexed quickly I would rather look at many of the e-books available [www.searchenginesecrets.co.za]. I find the e-books get right to the point which will get you onto the internet quickly and help you to get the first few sites “under your belt” in no time. Afer that a detalied book like this could make a lot of sense.

This book covers a lot of SEO,but leaves out important things like it will say you need to get backlinks but it won’t tell you what websites exactly,it will tell you about press releases and leave out those websites too.Its a hard read to say the least,No strategies,no link wheels,no automated software,no market samurai. Not bad for a complete newbie to get their head around some SEO concepts.

As an intermediate SEO for specific market, i would like make not that this book is a very book for SEO beginners, it had a good annex for the seo specific words and good description for each start of a chapter…on the other hand, as all SEO knows that everyday there is a new thing in SEO (updates from search engines, new growing social media, etc…) but its a good book to start learning the basicx
Good book with lots of information, but I have two huge problems with it.
1) The book is incredibly unreadable if you’re trying to make it straight through. Ironically, the book preaches about how harmful repetition is to the SEO process, yet the book uses the same exact phrases ad nauseam in every chapter. It’s not a very technical book, but it is absolutely painful getting through each chapter.
2) Would be much better if they had an example site that was SEO’d throughout the book. The examples are very poor in general. There aren’t nearly enough code examples and way too many useless screenshots of websites. I don’t need pictures of how to sign up for Google Analytics, I need examples of code that is/isn’t SEO’d.
