  This was the first book I downloaded for my Kindle, and boy what a disappointment! The formating of the book is terrible. On every page there are at least two or three words which are run together. In other words, there is no space between the words. I was usually able to figure out what was being said, but I don’t understand how such an error was able to get by quality control. Doesn’t anyone look at these books before they are offered for download? Also, later in the book, there are text descriptions which accompany photographs of various bikes. In every case, the text is on a separate page from the photo making it difficult to read and understand. The whole attempt at an ebook is a failure and it’s clear that whoever converted this books could care less about the quality.

  Fun book that covers a huge amount of motorcycling info, without diving very deep into any particular area.

  There’s very little here that you won’t find on a variety of internet sites that cater to new riders, but at least it’s well packaged.

  One thing I found disappointing was the description of how to actually start and ride a bike. The description on page 147 mixes up the left and right controls and would have you pressing up on the rear brake (right side) while operating the clutch and trying to put the bike into gear. Whoops — clutch levers AND pedals are on the left.

  Still, it’s worth $15.
