  • Green Beauty is an informative book on ingredients to avoid. However, so many beauty products contain a few of these ingredients and I think you can literally drive yourself crazy trying to avoid those but wanting to look pretty at the same time. What is a girl to do? She emphasized Juice Beauty products and although I use these myself they are not as superior as one might think. She mentioned Jurlique as just as expensive as LaMer. Yes, some of them maybe but LaMer has been around for a long time and the benefits are extraordinary. And only Max and his team truly knows whats in the product. I think it’s an informative read but was confused when it came to the deoterant section as well as perfume. Are you never susposed to wear perfume? Chanel is too toxic? Well maybe, but again you just can’t get away from all chemicals all the time, that is completely unrealistic.

  • This is another great bodycare recipe book. This book is well-written and has easy to follow recipes and instructions.. This is definitely a wonderful book as well as the Organic Bodycare Recipes book. These are definitely two wonderful books that everyone should have in their library. If you don’t have either of these books, grab a copy of both, I promise you, you won’t be dissappointed.

  • A real eye opener – Julie Gabriel draws attention to the toxins added to a lot of products that we believe is good for our skin and becoming more aware when purchasing beauty products. Must have on the bookshelf.

  • This author lost all credibility for me as a resource for “green” skin care products when I read her suggestion that Preparation H can be used as an emergency product for dark circles under the eyes. Granted, she does state that it’s not a green solution – so why mention it in a green guide? Turns out that the manufacturer has changed the U.S. version of this product so that it’s no longer effective for this use anymore. You’d think she would have done her research before suggesting something that ruins her advice for those of us that are looking for healthy solutions for our skin care.

  • A few years ago I read her first publication and it changed my views of skin care forever! I cannot thank this author enough. Sometimes as consumers we are so afraid to change, but we need to open our eyes and see what is truly being absorbed and placed into our bodies every single day. Books like this should be shared with anyone you care about. The author discusses the dangers of particular chemicals, how to avoid them, and embraces making your own inexpensive recipes for masks and healthy skin care items right at home. I like the way she organizes this text (easy to read and follow) as well as how informative it is. If you don’t want to take the author’s advice google “parabens” and you can see for yourself how harmful they are (and they are in practically every well known/commercialized skin care product). Her best advice in the book is simply this…if you can’t pronounce or recognize an ingredient then perhaps you should look into a more organic or natural product. The beauty care industry does NOT want women to know what is really in our skin care products because they are harmful and a much cheaper alternative to quality and safe ingredients. Do yourself a favor, even if you don’t purchase this book take it out of the library and READ THIS! It will shock you, but you will feel much safer knowing what is really going on.
