  • Do not buy XO Vision products. I have issues with their product, documentation, and their support is terrible!

  • This product can be had on ebay for as little as $10, and you get a lot of alarm for the price. The real drawback is the very poor manual. If you have experience you can get it installed but newbies should avoid this product. What’s driving me crazy is the auto-arm feature. You’re supposed to be able to disable it, but it is only disabled for one cycle and will start arming itself again. Also annoying it’s habit of flashing the lights for 30 seconds when you open the door, and the anti hijack system which seems to have it’s own logic about when to activate. These features are poorly documented and difficult to defeat. I really would prefer a simple “alarm on, alarm off” system instead of this one which has every possible function, poorly documented and absurdly alarming.

  • I am a trained electronic technician and the documentation is poor and leaves many questions unanswered. No web site to get help.

  • I purchased a car on January 4, 2010 and it was a 1993 Acura Integra RS and from the Acura models, the RS is the most basic so it’s power nothing! I’m actually very lucky that it even has ice cold blowing a/c and a/c that I don’t have to keep re-charging. So being a college student I’m always up and around especially constantly driving. It sucked already having a Clifford alarm but the alarm did nothing but make the sound with the press of the unlock/lock button and the blue light in the car would blink. There are so many car alarm brands out there but I just wanted to buy a pretty basic one that’ll actually lock/unlock the doors with just the press of a button. So as I was looking all over craigslist and ebay, I noticed they were about $75.00+. I remember some people telling me that Amazon sells things for a pretty cheap price and to my surprise, the same item being sold on ebay for $75.00 was being sold here on Amazon but for only $30.00. But before I bought it, I called my mechanics friend ’cause he’s been working at an actual store doing car alarms and audio for I don’t know how many years but a very long time. I gave him the model of the car alarm and there were specs of the car alarm but the pictures on Amazon and google were just too small! Anyways, I purchased it and he took care of it 2 days after receiving the alarm system.

Then he observed my car and when he noticed the Clifford alarm system that was already installed on there, he told me I can still use it ’cause at least it’s a name brand and all he needed to do was add a couple of things and he made me happy ’cause he did what I asked. So now, with the press of a few buttons, my car actually locks/unlocks and the trunk opens up with another button.

Since I didn’t need it anymore, I gave it to my friend who has a 2005 Honda Civic DX but out of strong curiousity, it didn’t have power door lock/unlock so we had my mechanics friend install it on there. After waiting for about 6 hours tops, he called us back and told us that the alarm system doesn’t even work properly. With the press of a button it’ll lock the doors but the siren would sound after. There were many malfunctions that we experienced with the alarm ’cause we decided to drive to where he was to actually see it for ourselves. No matter how much he tried to re-wire things, it just wouldn’t work out the way we expected it to.

It would alarm but it would have to take a few times to press the button to turn of the sound and unlock the car. Not only that, he informed us that the package isn’t even complete. In order for it to be complete, it would come with these long objects to actually lock/unlock the car doors. The doors will not just lock/unlock even though the alarm is installed.

Anyways, with all that said, I apologize it’s such a long story but I wanted to give a complete review of my experience with it unlike other reviews that are only 2-3 sentences long. I’m not gonna say “You get what you pay for” ’cause sometimes it may be true and sometimes not. Sometimes I buy something that someone says they hate ’cause it doesn’t work the way it should but hey, maybe they just got a defective one. Aside from my experience with it, I’m not putting this item down but of course I definitely won’t be buying something at least this cheap anymore. I’m just glad that it wasn’t put on my car ’cause it’s a 1993 rather on hers ’cause it’s a 2005 ’cause otherwise people might think it’s probably ’cause the car is messed up and not well taken care off. I actually got very lucky ’cause mine has only 80k original miles and it was very well taken care of.
